Ore deposit type: Magmatic in mafic-ultramafic rocks
Provenance: Newlands Mine, South Africa
Description: Hypoabyssal lamproites with abundant mantle peridotite xenoliths (pale green crystalline aggregates) and xenocrysts (olivine, pale green; pyropic garnet, purplish). A few phlogopite macrocrysts also occur (brown, with pearly luster).
