Ore deposit type: Hydrothermal in sedimentary environments, Mississippi Valley type (MVT)
Provenance: Paglio Pignolino – Camerata Cornello, Gorno (Lombardy, N Italy)
Description: Banded massive fluorite (“zebra ore”). This texture is the result of filling of open spaces produced by the dissolution of carbonatic rocks, due to the circulation of hydrothermal fluids along stratification joints.
